Managing expectations:
Spicules penetrate the dermis layer, creating microchannels for 36 to 72 hours.
During this process, the dormant dermal cells wake up and attack the spicule to protect the skin. This action stimulates the skin for 72 hours.
- 0–3 days: Prickly sensation, mild swelling, or redness
- 4–5 days: Tight, dry skin with flaking as dead skin sloughs off
- 7–10 days: Skin is smoother, firmer, and more even-toned
PRECAUTIONS:
- Do not wax 3 days before peel treatment or 1 week after peel treatment
- Avoid exposure to the sun and tanning beds for 2 weeks post-peel treatment
- 24-48 hours Pre & Post peel: Discontinue use of any Alpha or Beta Hydroxy Acids, ,Retinols, topical skin treatments or prescriptions
48 HOURS POST-PEEL, AVOID:
- Swimming pools, Jacuzzis, saunas
- Excessive exercise, as this can increase skin irritation
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Isotretinoin (Accutane) if currently using or last used within 6 months.
- Antibiotics if currently using or last used within 7 days.
